For referral partners

Niptei is the platform for companion and homemaker care: families find local agencies and solo carers, agencies run their operation, and solo carers get found and keep their own record. This page is for the professionals who stand beside the family in that arrangement — discharge planners and hospital staff, case managers, managed-care coordinators, and coordinators in the justice system who help people set up support at home.

How sending a referral works today

1

Choose a listed agency

Open the Request Care page and pick one agency from the public list. Only agencies that have chosen to open referrals appear there — listing and referrals are each agency's own switch, and an agency that has not opened them cannot be sent a referral through Niptei.

2

Send the referral from that page

The form asks who the referral is for, the kind of care, and how the care is expected to be funded. The funding answer is your statement, in a fixed set of words so the agency's inbox can group it: it is shown to the agency labeled as the referrer's statement, and it never decides the client's record — if the agency accepts and creates the record, its office sets the service track and payer there, as with any client.

3

The agency's office answers

The referral lands in that one agency's Referrals inbox inside Niptei. The office reads it, decides whether it can help, and replies using the contact given on the form. You will not be able to check on this referral online — there is no tracking page. The provider reads every referral it receives and replies using the contact you give here, if it can help.

Before you refer

Refer with the person's knowledge. A referral carries a person's details to a care agency, so send one only with that person's knowledge and agreement, and only to the one agency you chose. The care relationship, once it starts, is between the person and the agency — its terms, its consent arrangements, and its records are theirs. Niptei is the pipe the referral travelled through, not a party to the care.

If no agency is listed for the area, there is nobody on Niptei to refer to there yet. You can register the area's interest instead — the demand counts are what providers see when they decide where to open a listing — or open the state pages to see where registration is open.

What Niptei does not do

  • No automatic notifications. Niptei does not send automatic emails — when providers open in your area, they appear in this directory. A referral is not pushed onward to anyone's phone or inbox outside Niptei either: it waits in the agency's inbox until their office opens it, and the office's reply comes through the contact on the form.
  • No routing, ranking, or scoring. Niptei does not choose an agency for you, send a referral to more than the one agency you picked, or promise an acceptance, a reply, or a reply by any particular time. The agency decides, as with any referral it receives.
  • Not a certified vendor. Niptei claims no HIPAA, CQC, or other compliance certification, and it is not a state-certified EVV vendor. Agencies record their own licenses and credentials on their own records; Niptei records what an agency declares and does not check it against any regulator or registry.
  • No listing is an endorsement. An agency appears on the public list because it opened a listing, and the facts on its card are the facts on its own record. Carrying out your own usual checks before referring remains yours to do.
